How many hours do I need a photographer at my wedding?

This is one of my most frequently asked questions and one that has a different answer for everyone. When booking your photographer, this is one of the first questions you will answer. My goal is to help make that decision easier for you! So, how many hours of coverage do you need? That is going to depend on a few things. How big of a wedding are you planning? How important are details like "getting ready" shots, rings, flowers, and decorations to you? Are you planning a grand exit that you want your photographer there for? All these questions, once answered, are going to help you determine how many hours of coverage will fit your needs perfectly.

I offer 4 different packages. The Elopement, The Six, The Eight, and The Ten. The package names kind of speak for themselves in terms of coverage. But how much can a photographer capture in that amount of time? That's the real question. Now obviously, I can only speak for myself but this should give you a realistic idea of what is possible.

First, I'll say, every wedding is different and many things can happen to derail even the most thoughtfully laid out schedule. My packages are based on "best case scenarios" because the alternative would mean me urging all my brides to book 10 hours "just in case". Luckily, in the event something throws your schedule way off, you can add extra hours of coverage at anytime on the day of your wedding!

So lets talk packages!

THE ELOPEMENT:

This package, of course, is meant for Elopements. It is perfect for the couples who care less about the details and want to focus more on documenting themselves on their big day. With 3-4 hours of coverage I will be able to capture your Ceremony, Family Photos, Bridal Party (if there is one), and then spend the remainder of your time with an adventurous Bride and Groom session.

THE SIX:

The Six is perfect for couples who are having a smaller wedding but are still interested in having all the traditional shots taken. In six hours I can typically capture a few "getting ready" shots, some details, bridal portraits, ceremony, family, bridal party, bride and groom, and a portion of the reception.

THE EIGHT:

The Eight is the perfect package for couples who want a little of everything. With Eight hours of coverage I can do some "getting ready" shots, detail shots, bridal portraits, grooms portraits, bride and bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen, reception details (if it's at the same location), ceremony, family portraits, bridal party, bride and groom, and most if not all of the reception depending on how long you plan to dance the night away!

THE TEN:

The Ten gets you everything! With ten hours, I will be there to document you from the time you start getting ready through your grand exit. I will have plenty of time for "getting ready", details, bridal portraits, grooms portraits, bride and bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen, reception details (if it's at the same or nearby location), ceremony, family portraits, bridal party, bride and groom, your entire reception from your entrance to your exit. This package is perfect for couples who are having a big wedding and want to make sure every moment of their day is documented.

Of course, every couple's day is laid out differently. Some people may not need bridal party photos, or aren't interested in having "getting ready" photos taken, in those cases we can use that time towards creating different, more important (to you) images. At the end of the day, I am here solely to help you capture the memories that mean the most to you. Deciding on the amount of coverage is just the beginning of that!

I hope this post helps you get started in planning your Big Day and if you have any additional questions, I am always available to chat.
